Last month we were fortunate enough to host a few DC skaters from Norway and Barcelona. Ruben Garcia and Michael Sommer. I first met Ruben a few years ago through a mutual friend in San Diego. When I heard he was coming back to the states for work for a month I wouldn't have it any other way than for him to stay with us. Even though I am sure DC offers them housing It just wouldn't be the same if he wasn't in our home. Each visit has the same protocol.....the white Mercedes, 20-30 pairs of dc shoes, Rubens mix Cd's, and the Saloon, where EVERYONE knows his name :)
The random chance I met him and now I couldn't imagine my life without him. In-n-Out breakfast, Pizza in Bed, Frank Sinatra, and what was that channel we watched all day laughing hysterically??
This visit was a little different...... added bonus. One of Rubens riders Michael Sommer ended up included in our housing project. When I hear hotel I cringe.....why stay in a hotel when you can have a home. Mikey, as he came to be known around our home, entered our lives and will never leave. I can't get sad anymore when these wonderful people leave.....I just think about the "Next" adventure.

So it was an average day of my life standing outside of 7 11 , showing off my killer dance moves, when Heather and Tammy hopped out of a van and asked me if I was interested in doing an adidas photoshoot!! Little did i know i was being watched from a distance by complete strangers who cruised around the neighborhood in a van, but I cant say i minded this. My friends all peed and pooed and i was flabergasted. "could it be my killer dance moves?" i wondered. Later on that day I informed my mother about the strange occurence and her initial reaction was another modeling school wanting a lot of money. Stupid her. Turns out it was an oppurtunity of a life time because not only was i able to be a part of an adidas commercial but i met some hilare people, got a personal teacher, and I was inspired to do backflips off of walls......Liz
Liz was chosen for the 2011 adidas "Ready to Run" campaign. Her energy and personality was exactly what adidas was looking for and found in the parking lot of a 7eleven in Imperal beach. Professional models, real parkour athletes, and 5 casting calls in LA and San Diego could not provide what Liz brought to the table for this Parkour driven campaign. Polaroid Grey Label is the recent collaboration between Lady Gaga and Polaroid. I had was offered the opportunity to produce and cast with 40 of San Diego's finest. Everyday people found on the streets helped this campaign to shine with their beautiful spirits and care-free attitudes. The long awaited images from the last polaroid campaign are starting to surface. This was one shoot I will never forget. Beautiful, creative, talented people from agency to crew to talent. Still smiling from the memories of this shoot.
